Are they allowed to just straight-up steal Tron like that? These guys must have the best fucking lawyers in the world. I’m not sure if I like the new look of the characters, they have gotten a lot more cartoony, I suppose it fits since Saint’s Row is basically a cartoony insane version of Grand Theft Auto but I never really wanted this to be reflected in the art style, the next step after this would be to cell-shade everything, and as we learned from Ultimate Spider-Man a cell shaded city is not pretty
The combat looks like it has improved, we see someone driving a car into us in a Tron environment as we are in action, I like it when a game bothers with crap like that, there are too many shooters these days that just have you crouched behind a wall the entire time, since when was that considered fun?
The characters and story have improved it seems, that red headed girl told me she wanted to broadcast my subconscious into somewhere or something. If the game has awesome interesting missions like that all the way through then I’m sold.
Overall, Saint’s Row 2 was fantastic and I wasn’t sure how they were going to trump it, it seems they have gone in a different direction with a few things here and pushed the things that have worked for the series at the same time. I’m very excited, it looks like a lot of fun. I just hope it doesn’t become too cartoony.
